Cruisin' to the Bahamas

Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas
August 25-29, 2014

Notes from Nanny: I flew in from Indianapolis on August 24 to visit with Jay and his Tampa family. Ellen helped get me ready for the trip, including helping package my daily medicines and driving me to the airport.

The flight was smooth and Jay was there in Tampa to meet me. When we got to his home Sandra and her family were there to join us for dinner – we had Chinese. It was so nice seeing Sandra, Steve, Savanah, Seth and Sydney.

The next morning we headed for Port Canaveral, and we got there early and we quickly parked and smoothly embarked on the ship.

We were at the buffet lunch by noon!!! I loved getting dressed every night and going into that beautiful dining room and being served. The waiters were so marvelous; just wonderful people. The food I thought was great and I loved every bit of it. What a treat to get dressed every night and go in there.

When we came out from dinner we were able to see such fun shows. A couple of them in particular were excellent: the magician who was also a hypnotist was great. The commedian was very good. All the others were fun too.

In Nassau we had a great driving tour. It was such a surprise to me because I mostly remembered just straw market and there's a heck of a lot more than that. Some the things we saw were so interesting. We saw the Queen’s Staircase; a very, very, very steep set of stairs cut through the rocks that went down great distance. We also saw government houses and both the good and the bad parts of Nassau. The people were friendly and nice we saw a wonderful and colorful band that I enjoyed so much.

One of the great things we did was take a water taxi over to the Atlantis Resort that was absolutely fabulous. It’s interesting to see how the other half lives. It was beautiful in every respect - just gorgeous.
