New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary

May 26-27, 2013
On Monday, May 26th, the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary held a Campus Preview day for prospective students and their families. Rusty and Anne rented a car and drove in Sunday night from Tampa; Bonnie and Jay drove down Sunday night from Lanett where they had been helping Benjamin celebrate his fourth birthday.

NOBTS guests were put up at a downtown Holiday Inn at a very modest fee, and the accommodations were nice. Monday morning we were greated by NOBTS orientation people who loaded us into vans for the trip to the campus. Once there we registered and were given a nice breakfast meal. Then we were officially welcomed and broken into small groups for a campus tour. During the day there was a meeting with professors, a chapel service when the president of the seminary provided the main message, a chance for Rusty to sit in on a class, a tour of their local Bible museum, and a tour of campus housing for married students. That evening we were picked up by a touring bus and taken to the French Quarter for some excellent cajun cooking, and later we had coffee and pastry.

Every part of the day was first class and we enjoyed every bit of it. We especially had fun with all 535 square feet of living space that Rusty and Anne will have in just a few months.

The next day we stayed ion town to sample more of the food and some more areas of the city. It was a great day in all respects.

"I'm supposed to eat that?"

"Tastes like spicy chicken."

"Do I suck on the head and eat the leg or
bite the head and suck on the leg?"

"She's getting all the big ones!"
