Trip to Indianapolis

November 13-17, 2014

Had a nice visit with Nanny. And also got to see Tom, Ellen, Colleen, and Katie. And spent some time with Mom's friends Bob and Pat.

We went to the Indiana State Museum and visited the new exhibit there plus two of the old exhibit areas we had not previously seen. Saturday we went back to see an IMAX movie called Penguins 3D, which was good.

Friday night we took in a play at a small theater in Carmel. Total audience seating was probably 150. Very good experience.

Saturday afternoon we took a grounds tour of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which was very interesting.

Did have to take a pause in our ventures to watch FSU defeat Miami at football on Saturday night. We snacked and watched the game at Tom and Ellen's house (and got an early celebration of my upcoming birthday - thank you!).

And, after church on Sunday, we had a nice time at the country estate home formerly owned by Eli Lilly, which has now been turned into a State Museum.

The weather was also an interesting part of the trip. Thursday morning I was in shirtsleeves in Tampa, and Thursday afternoon I was braving 20°F weather in Indianapolis.

It was another wonderful visit and I am planning how and when we can get together again.
