New Year's Celebration at the Gaylord Palms, Orlando
Kissimmee/Orlando December 30, 2021 - January 1, 2022
Jay and Joyce looked for a New Year’s getaway and selected the Gaylord Palms, Orlando. We arrived Thursday, December 30, and departed Sunday, January 2. Our room was nice, the food at the restaurants was good, the staff members we encountered were cheerful and helpful.
Our bill for three nights plus various food services and the Christmas show was a bit high, but worth it.
Our room, specially picked by Joyce, had a balcony that overlooked the main atrium area. That certainly and substantially added to our enjoyment - much more that if our room overlooked the gardens or parking area.
We took all our meals at the resort, no need to leave because there were a number of restaurants and quick food services available.
We did get out twice for miniature golf at two of the Disneyworld carpet golf facilities. Interesting and challenging courses. And Joyce again demonstrated her putting prowess as compared to Jay (who plays golf twice a week).
The resort also had a nice Christmas show, featuring jugglers, acrobats, and trapese artists. We had good seats and even got a minor upgrade to even better seats.
To give a fair account, however, I have to note that while Gaylord Palms did an excellent job with their panoply of Christmas acivities, New Year's Eve was just another night ... no festivities to bring in the New year. Very disapointing.
But we liked our getaway and were glad for our time together.
