Each year the Fellowship Baptist Church Joy 60+ (Senior) Ministry holds its annual Christmas Party, generally on the first Friday of December.
For many, many years, Marvin and Kay Williams have hosted the event in their home. It is hard to imagine the level of effort it takes in advance, during, and after the event to prepare and clean up one's home for somewhere around 80 people who will be enjoying a Christmas dinner, songing some Christmas songs, and participating in a White Elephant Gift Exchange.
Special blessings for them.
For Christmas 2025 this workload was shifted over to the FBC Connection Center, a much larger facility where food and tables were all in one room. Plus the Connection Center has a sound system, so that is a big plus.
As usual, the participants outdid themselves in preparing and delivering a panoply of plentiful gastronomic delights.
Pastor David Spencer and his Kitchen Krew (Thank You, Thank You, Thank You) set up the tables and the serving line in the Connection Center, prepared and delivered iced beverages and coffee, monitored the food layout on the long buffet tables, kept the area clean, and emptied trash cans.
Joyce helped Pastor David lead the singing of Christmas songs.
And the White Elephant Gift Exchange went well enough - hard to run such and event with so many people.
It was a fun night and thanks to everyone who made the evening go so well.
