Paul Dunn's Celebration of Life

Hatteras Village Civic Center
April 30, 2023

Jay and Joyce travelled to Cape Hatteras to be at the Celebration of Life for Paul Dunn that was held on April 30, 2023.

Their travel arrangements included flying in to and out of Norfolk on April 29 and back to Tampa on May 1, respectively. Travel from Norfolk to Cape Hatteras and back to Norfolk was by rental car, a three hour trip each way.

With those travel details you can understand why Jay and Joyce were up at 4:30 AM on Saturday and didn't drive into Buxton until after 5 PM that day.

The first order of business was a family dining out, and Shaun picked a nice restaurantat the marina.

The Celebration of life was held at the Hatteras Village Civic Center, the same nice venue that had served as the location for the reception following the wedding of Shaun Dunn to Victoria Caldwell in October of 2022.

Shaun did a great job. Paul would have been very proud of how Shaun handled almost everything. Yes, Dor0thy helped with her delicious deviled eggs and Shannon helped with the setup, but Shaun covered lots of ground: He brought in and arranged the outside decorations of buoys and on the inside he set up tables for pictures and hung netting to clip pictures. He also arranged a sound system with a wireless microphone, plus he handled the preparation of the food, including cooking the pork, and running the kitchen activities so well that he looked like one of those famous television chefs. He was the "Master of Ceremonies" for the Celebration and he kept the pulse of the activities to keeping everything moving.

The food was delicious and plentiful. The beverages were likewise excellent and abundant.

These are just a few of the many people who came forward to share memories and stories about Paul. He was greatly respected.
