Marshall Clyde Murray was born on August 19, 1915. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, assigned to Company A, 14th Training Battalion. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was stationed at Camp Wheeler, which trained Americans service members for World War I and World War II. This site has since been returned to its natural state, and has been turned back to the State of Georgia. His enlistment date was April 15, 1941 and his discharge date was July 25, 1945. His World War II draft card showed his residence as Upper Apartment 50, 3044 Avenue R, Brooklyn, Kings, New York, and that he was currently a student at Eastern Chiropractic Institute.

The 1940 United States Federal Census shows that Alma C. Williams lived in Chauncey, Georgia, which is near Macon, Georgia, and makes it likely that the two met while Marshall Clyde was performing his military duties at Camp Wheeler. They married in June of 1945, likely in Macon, Georgia. The 1950 United States Federal Census shows that Marshall and Alma were back living in Marshall's home on Avenue R and that they had two children; a daughter, Carol Murray, age 3; and a son, Marshall W Murray, Jr., who was born November 24, 1949. The census records show that Marshall Clyde was Assistant President, Machine Club Bankery.

Clyde Marshall died June 30, 1969, and is buried with his wife Alma in Valleyview Cemetery, Ticonderoga, New York.
