Karen Elizabeth Braden
|
Karen Braden grew up in a military family. She was born shortly after her father's return from Vietnam as he continued his studies at Purdue University. Karen's youth was spent in Dale City and Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Kaiserslautern, Heidelberg, and Frankfurt, Germany; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Fort Monroe, Virginia; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania; and Stuttgart and Hanau, Germany. She began college at the University of Maryland campus in Munich and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Science in social work from Florida State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of South Florida. As a youth her activities included competitive swimming, high school varsity soccer, and club-level soccer at FSU. Her field is social work, and she has been employed in that capacity in Tallahassee, Tampa, Lakeland, and Naples, Florida. Currently she works for a hospice organization in the Tampa Bay area.
