Tradewinds Island Resort and the Guy Harvey Outpost

St. Pete Beach
June 17-20

They don't call them "Time Shares" anymore - evidently too many negative thoughts associated with the concept. So now it is "Vacation Ownership" and you buy points instead of weeks. The amount of points you have to use depends on location (of the resort and within the resort), time of the year, space you want (one BR, two BR; etc.) ... So, in a moment of extreme weakness I signed up to attend a presentation in return for a discounted room at Tradewinds, a great resort on St. Pete Beach, and other gifts. So I got with the kids and both Robert and his family and Sandra and her family were able to join me, though they stayed at the nearby Guy Harvey Outpost.

Well, the bottom line is that we all had a good time: swimming, going down the three-story-high, 200-foot-long inflatable "High Tide Slide," eating S'mores, playing on the beach, competing at Corn Hole, and playing miniature golf. Plus, we enjoyed good eats to include some fine tasting seafood at Crabby Bills as a Father's Day treat.

Oh, yes. I used the Internet, Googling "How to Survive a Time Share Presentation" and did manage to keep my credit card in my wallet.

It was very good family time and we'll have a number of nice memories.
