Breezes in Nassau

A Summer GetAway
July 29 - August 2, 2022

Jay and Joyce, both going stir crazy from COVID restrictions, slipped away for four nights in Nassau at Breezes Resort and Spa. With passports and COVID papers in hand we traveled by plane, going through Miami on the way down and through Charlotte on the way back.

Breezes Bahamas with its 541 rooms, advertises itself as “a charming, seaside all-inclusive resort commanding a pristine stretch of Nassau’s best beach - the powder white sands of Cable Beach.”

We splurged and got a ground floor ocean front room and for two of the days also got a cabana served by a “Beach Butler.” Yes we got spoiled. The resort has three a la carte restaurants and also a buffet restaurant. In the pool area there was also a grill where Jay got his fill of jerk chicken. The grill also served up very tasty conch fritters, a must for any Bahamian visit. The resort advertises “tipping is forbidden” but no one turned down our small tokens of appreciation.

The room was good size and was well maintained, always smelling clean. Getting around Breezes was pretty easy, something both Jay and Joyce appreciated. The pool area was filled with music and the Entertainment Crew worked hard to offer games for guests to play. Since the object of the get-away was rest and relaxation, that is exactly what Jay and Joyce did, with but one local bus sortie towards Nassau where they found a cozy restaurant, “Bush Gardens,” and enjoyed some beverages as well as - you guessed it - an order of conch fritters.

The return home was smooth, though the route back was a bit circuitous. Jay and Joyce were able to catch an earlier flight out of Charlotte, so that was a plus.

A good time.
